Robin: Robin went to the doctor back in September and found out her A1C, fasting glucose, total cholesterol and LDL were all high. Her doctor also said he wanted her to lose some weight. Robin had been so busy taking care of everyone else in her family; she hadn’t bothered to take care of herself.

Robin didn’t like diets and wasn’t sure how she felt about lifting weights. She started slow with her trainer Tom who made sure she was having fun. Over time, and with encouragement, her confidence grew and she began to enjoy strength training. Robin also bought a pedometer and made a goal to walk 10,000 steps on the days she didn’t strength train.

She worked with her dietitian Mark to slowly add better foods to her diet. She was still allowed to eat steaks and drink wine, but she also added more fruits, vegetables, and whole grains. Over time Robin grew to enjoy eating healthier, because it made her feel better.

She lost 13 pounds and 6 inches! She went from a size 10 to a size 6. Today Robin is much healthier. She is currently working hard to lose 10 more pounds by summer!
