3 Local Walking Paths on Cleveland’s Westside to Get Your Steps in this Spring

Spring has finally arrived in Cleveland (after second winter, false spring, third winter, false spring 2#…), and what better time than now to head outdoors and get some extra steps in to boost your mental health, your physical health, and achieve any fitness or weight loss goals. So grab a friend, your dog, or your favorite podcast and head out to some local trails!

1: Cahoon Memorial Park

Located in Bay Village (and only 10 minutes from Live Fit’s gym in Westlake!), the Cahoon ½ mile loop is right on the shores of Lake Erie. While beautiful at any time of the day, sunset is an absolute must! Perfect walk to take after a personal training session.

2: Rocky River Nature Center

In North Olmsted or Fairview Park? Head down to the Rocky River Nature Center for a 1.29-mile loop through the woods. And of course, if you are feeling adventurous and want to burn some extra calories and build up your quad strength (maintaining quad strength is great for kneecap stability, especially for recreational sports like volleyball), you can hit the Fort Hill Stairs that overlook the river. A long way up, but always worth the view.

3: Bradley Woods

Whether you're in Westlake, Avon, North Olmsted, or Avon Lake, Bradley Woods Reservation is a favorite. A wooded loop provides a peaceful and easy path, circling to and from the parking lot. Perfect for trail runners or an afternoon stroll!
